If you’re thinking about starting your own online business, a good question to ask yourself is, are you just looking to enjoy the services or product creation, or will you be able to truly run an entire business?
Some people just enjoy the creative process but lack the ability to put systems and processes in place to effectively run the operations.
You know, like the fact that you have to bring leads in through ongoing marketing, make sales, and of course, provide what the customer pays for.
If you feel like this would be a struggle for you, here are a couple of things you could do to help.
- Partner with someone – find someone that compliments you and has the skillset that you don’t have. They’ll be able to fill in the gaps that you can’t. In return, they get a revenue share from the business.
- Operate as a Supplier or Freelancer – You can work with another business on a contractual basis where they get the customers and all you have to do is supply the service or product on their behalf. They take care of the marketing and customer operations, while you just get to create. It’s a win-win!
